The West Coast and particularly Vancouver are rich in various Yoga Centres. We feel blessed by this. When Swami Vishnu-devananda founded the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization in Montréal in 1959, this widespread growth of Yoga schools was part of his vision. What makes us unique is our dedication to traditional East Indian Yoga. This means we teach classical Hatha Yoga of course but also Meditation, Raja, Bhakti, Jnana and Karma Yoga. In other words, we teach all the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of Yoga. Our Vancouver teachers have all been trained either directly by Swami Vishnu-devananda himself or by his senior disciples and are registered with the Yoga Alliance and YABC.
